K-beauty product review: Neogen Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea

Hi my loves! It’s time to post a review about another K-beauty skincare product from the brand Neogen. Recently I posted a review of their Blueberry Real Fresh Foam Cleanser (you can read my review here). Cleansing sticks are not that common in the western skincare industry, but when it comes to Korean beauty products, they are all the rave. Apart from Neogen, well known and cult favorites are Su:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick & Belif The True Tincture Cleansing Stick in Chamomile. Now, let’s review Neogen cleansing stick.

This Green Tea Cleansing Stick is a collaboration with Charlotte Cho. She is the founder of Korean e-commerce site Soko Glam. It combines actual pieces of green tea in the stick (hence the name) and 13 different natural oils to melt away makeup and daily buildup.

How To Use:

  1. Twist up the cleanser by turning the bottom of the tube to reveal enough product.
  2. Swipe over damp skin and then massage with your hands to lather.
  3. Rinse with lukewarm to cool water.

Green Tea Cleansing stick comes in a sturdy, plastic packaging with a cap. As it is solid cleanser, it is ideal for travel and to put in your carry-on or simply for ‘daily on the go’ – a perfect companion for your gym bag.

Texture and scent

This cleanser is a solid cleanser that is full of green tea leaves and you can see the bits embedded in the stick. It produces a gentle foam. And about the tea leaves – they are so gentle that I barely feel them my skin.

I personally love skincare products that are fragrance free, but this scent is subtle and fresh.

That magical ingredient – GREEN TEA

As the name says, this cleansing stick has particles of a real Green tea. Green tea is so good for your skin: it has anti-aging and antioxidant benefits, improves skin complexion, treats acne, reduces large pores and gives skin healthy glow. Now, that is a lot.

Apart from the Green Tea, other ingredients that stand out are Camellia Sinensis Leaf and seed oil, Coconut Oil and Evening Primrose Oil.

Full List of Ingredients: Glycerin, purified water, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, palmitic acid, stearic acid, lauryl betaine, betaine, camellia sinensis leaf(0.3%), camellia sinensis seed oil(0.1%), camellia japonica seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower)seed oil, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, oenothera biennis (eveningprimrose) oil, tocopheryl acetate, citrus aurantifolia (lime) oil, ocimum basillicum (basil) oil, cananga odorata flower oil, citrus limon (lemon) peel oil, origanum heracleoticum floweroil, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange)peel oil, fragrance.

Final thoughts

This is a no fuss, easy to use, face cleansing product. Packaging is simple, sturdy and travel-friendly. I feel that it does dry out my normal skin a bit, so if you have a dry skin, bare that in mind. After, I usually use hydrating toner and cream. It claims that it cleanses and melts all the make up off, but I find that itself is not enough to be my one-step cleanser. It is great as the second cleanser (I use it after an oily based cleanser).

I really like the concept of cleansing sticks, so the next one from my wish list is Su:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick. Hopefully, it will be one of my next purchases.

Have you guys tried out this or any other cleansing stick? What do you think about it?

Until my next post…
