Hello my loves!
It is almost winter time. Cold air, heating, dry air, wind – all of that stress can cause our skin to became dehydrated, irritated and sensitive. One product that claims it can help sensitive and stressed skin is Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer.
DESCRIPTION AND CLAIMS
- Addresses both the short-term visible signs and long term premature aging effect that stress can have on skin.
- Clinical results showed that 100% of those tested showed a significant improvement in overall skin quality, dryness and blotchiness.
- The formula with Rosa Gallica Botanical Extract helps minimize skin’s visible response to stress.
- Mannose, a barrier protecting rare sugar, shields and helps maintain skin to promote recovery.
- Massage a small amount of moisturizer onto freshly-cleansed skin.
As all of Kiehl’s products, its package concept is clean and simple. White plastic bottle which delivers the products throughout a pump with pin like hole. I really like that the product remains in an air-tight packaging. One pump is enough for my face. The bottle is small enough to fit in any bag. The price is $40 for a 75 ml of product and I think that it is a reasonably priced product for the amount you get.
TEXTURE AND SCENT
Its texture is like a thick lotion that leaves a tad tacky feeling on the skin. It takes a few minutes until the product sinks into the skin completely.
I do not detect any scent, which I prefer and it should be like so if the product is meant to be for a sensitive skin.
If you look the list of ingredients, some that stand out are Glycerin, Chamomile, Rosa Galica, Manose and Shea Butter. Manose strengthens the skin’s barrier function, Chamomile is well known for its comforting properties and Rosa Galica stops the inflammation response reducing the appearance of visible stress manifestations – dullness, redness, blotchiness.
Some people discuss that some ingredients might be not so great, like the p-anisic acid and rose extract and how they can trouble the sensitive skin (because they are ingredients that provide scent and fragrant ingredients can cause skin irritation or break outs). I haven’t experienced any of that, and my skin is pretty sensitive.

Even though this cream has a bit heavier texture, I really like it. I have used it mostly as my day cream, which means under the make-up and foundation looked great on top of it. It improves the level of hydration and moisturizes the skin really well. Another great thing is the packaging: nice and sturdy, sanitary and travel friendly.
The only thing that I would prefer is SPF 30 or higher, but overall, this is a nice daily moisturizer.
If you have sensitive skin, I would definitely recommend that you give this product a try.
Have you tried out this product? What are you favorite products from Kiehl’s? Until my next post…
