Hi lovlies! I have been MIA for a couple weeks due to vacation mode, but now I’m back. So, today I wanted to write about true summer products: tanning marmalade. I have bought 2 by the brand Biobaza. They are a brand that promotes natural cosmetics and all the products are developed by Croatian experts for pharmaceutical production. Their products are made for sensitive skin and have no preservatives, irritants, artificial fragrances (perfumes) or colors.
Today’s review will be about Biobaza Supertaning marmelade and Supertanning Royal marmelade. Both products promote tanning and take care of the skin at the same time because of the combination of all natural ingredients like carrot and walnut.
Supertanning marmalade comes in a white plastic jar with a plastic lid that you just put on top of the jar. It is not practical at all, I prefer a screw lid. Packaging could be better. White plastic gets dirty easily due to the greasy product and it doesn’t clean well. The lid came off a few times, and the product spilled all over my beach bag. I ended up carrying the jar in a plastic bag. Not good. Another thing I didn’t like about the packaging is the fact that the sticker came off at some parts, so the whole thing looks old and untidy.
Now for the packaging of the Biobaza Supertaning Royal, it is great! It also comes in a plastic jar, but it is clear plastic with a metal screw lid. The packaging look great, luxurious and it is safe to put in your bag.
About the price, they are both around 10 EUR (Supertaning Royal is a bit pricier). I got both on sale in my local drugstore (DM).
What it says it does:
Supertanning marelade: ‘Promotes intense tanning and bronze skin tone. Tinted marmalade for fast tanning is rich in carotenoids from carrot and walnut extract and nourishing oils of calendula and olive which are ideal for skin care. It will provide radiance and hydration to the skin and stimulate intensive tanning and achieving bronze complexion. After application, the skin is silky, soft and slightly tinted.’
Biobaza Supertaning Royal: ‘99% natural, innovative formula is designed for quick tanning and achieving of even, natural bronze tan. Enriched with extract of black carrot, the “black queen”, rich in anthocyanins and beta-carotene, with powerful antioxidant properties, the formula supports skin preparation for sun exposure. Thanks to nourishing olive, calendula and walnut oils and vitamin E your skin will be protected from drying out and premature ageing even while sunbathing.’
Both products are recommended to apply before sun exposure and repeat the process after swimming.
Smell and texture:
Supertanning marmelade has that strong herbal scent that some people might not be happy with. I personally like that kind of scent. Texture is marmalade like, color is brownish but it does have some particles (I suppose carrot and walnut particles) that I do not like because when I put it on my skin, it looks blotchy. The product also leaves a slight tint on the skin.
Ingredients are 100 % natural origin and are: Olive oil, carrot oil, walnut oil, calendula oil, rose wood oil, immortelle extract, palmarosa essential oil, cocoa butter.
Now for the Supertaning Royal marmelade, the scent is amazing. I cannot quite describe it, but it is a true summery scent, with a hint of coconut. Its texture is great, it spreads easily and the skin looks healthy. Again, natural ingredients: Purple carrot extract, walnut oil, olive oil, calendula oil, coconut oil, cocoa powder, sunflower oil, tomato oil.
Both products are sticky and the might leave a tint on your beach towel or bikini, but it is completely washable.
I have used both products and I must say, they both do the job with tanning. I must say that I am very fair and I burn easily, but I didn’t get any sun burn as I used high SPF and kept away from the sun as much as I could and I still get tanned.
The fact that I like about them is that they take care of the skin, it is not dry and it is well nourished.
If I had to choose, I would recommend buying Biobaza Supertaning Royal marmelade because of its smell, texture and packaging.
